This is a discouraging season for many of us.
It feels like Agile has lost favour. It sucks to love what we do, and then hear that what we do isn’t valuable anymore.
There’s a vibe that AI is the new thing. Many of us have joyfully switched from a fading niche to a rising, hotter one.
For me, chasing tech has no more flavour after 30 years into a career. But that doesn’t mean there are no opportunities. Opportunity is everywhere.
This season calls for us to adapt. To rethink and refashion what we offer. To present our value and values in more relevant terms. In fact, the very shift we’re living through is the opportunity itself. How can we take an established set of beliefs, practices and an entire brand and find its relevance and opportunity in this time of AI dominance?
The answer is to stay focused on what we do best. We facilitate certainty before a backdrop of the unknown.
This show is forever shifting, too. It’s terrifying to think of abandoning the audience and the initial energy of “here’s how to do agile right” in the context of technical delivery. But its equally thrilling to think of how the skills we’ve honed, and discussed here and in The Forge, can carry you safely into a dark and dangerous future.
