One of the things I LOVE about my work is getting people who don’t feel tough – mentally, emotionally, and physically – to take on the lessons I’ve learned in both business and boxing – and elevating them to the badass state.

It’s no longer a given that your path to leadership invovles a lengthy degree, an entry level job, a decade of paying your dues, and a long, bloody apprenticeship ‘up the ladder’.  As an innovator, in this idea generation, you may learn the ever-emerging reality that a leader is just someone who goes first.  You lead from where you stand.

But of course, this takes massive courage.  You still need to be able to influence fans and enemies alike.  You will be going up against expert negotiators and master manipulators.  But the world needs your art.  You need to get tough.  You need to get Badass.  In 2018 we’ll spend more time talking about the skills and mindsets you need to get there.  For today, I want to remind you of the reasons why we are here; I want to bolster your resolve and your courage to stand up and lead.

Remember the most important badass fundamentals:

1. Never, never, never doubt your right to be here.
2. You will never please all of the people most of the time. There’ll always be haters, no matter how good you are at what you make.
3. The best thing you can learn to do is to enjoy failure.
4. You answer to no one but yourself.
5. Never, ever quit.
Thank you for joining me in 2017.   I hope this information has been helpful to you.  Thank you for your support and engagement this past year.  Thank you for being part of something very unique, very special.
I wish you and your families a very happy holiday season, and I will look forward to seeing the tribe in 2018.
